Who's on your team?

For the fellas

Who's on your team?
Wonderful men
Men who take action
Men who protect
Men who teach

Men who love to play
Men who love to work
Men who compete
Men who make moves
Men who've got game

Men who tell jokes
Men who toss the ball with the boys
Men who chase the girls
Men with big muscles
Men with big grins

Wonderful men
Men who believe in the power of love
Men who believe in the power of virtue
Men with spirit
Men with brains

Who's on your team?

Madly

Going through an old suitcase filled with bits of paper, old letters and journals, etc., I came across a poem I had written long ago. My first thought was, "What was I thinking?" My second thought was, "I haven't changed at all." Here, with a few minor edits, is that poem.

Time to let go, and to let go again

Time to trust, and to trust again

To be strong, free, and female

To have ambition and opinions

And the drive to stick it out

In spite of fears that bring you down

That can, in fact, drown

I have the strength to keep on

And maybe today, or maybe tomorrow

Someday, in some way

I will find my happiness

And I will not give in

I will not let go

I will find my happiness

And I will not let it go

And if I live my life,

My life, on my own,

Always on my own,

I will not forget the knowledge

Or the certainty

That now and forever, I am,

And always have been,

Madly in love

Some Heavenly Thing

Here are the lyrics to my newest song.

I want to be with you, baby

I want to touch your hair

I want to push you right over

Oh, is that a bed over there?

You can lay me down softly

You can lay me down slow

If you talk to me dirty

I'll never let you go

You better not tease me

You know I want it all

Go too deep and I'll catch you

Are you ready to fall?

Take your time, baby

I love to watch you smile

Can this feeling go deeper?

I'm in over a mile

Feel my heart pounding

Like a bird on the wing

See how we start to glisten

Like some heavenly thing

I want to be with you, baby

I want the bells to ring

See how we start to glisten

Like some heavenly thing

How I Feel

How does it feel when you reach rock bottom?
When pain turns you twenty shades of blue?
When you've run out of pride, and you're screwed-up inside?
That's how I feel about you

I remember the day you traded me in
For someone different, someone better, someone new
Nice going, friend, but you'll pay in the end
That's how I feel about you

I'm out of control, going out of my mind
Out of luck, and out of time
If you ever trace my footsteps, and I hope you do
You'll see that's how I feel about you

This new girl you found, does she blow your mind?
Does she write poetry, too?
There's nothing left to say, nothing I can do
That's how I feel about you
